Happy Headwork Community CIC
Happy Headwork Community CIC (Reg: 13677807) is a separate organisation from Happy Headwork Ltd, with its own governance and transparent policies. Born from shared values but designed for different contexts.
We work with community members and other stakeholders to identify specific needs, then co-create transformative learning programmes to address them.
Blending psychology, creativity, nature and conservation, we design programmes that are trauma-informed and needs-responsive.
We work online, in-person, and in nature, across Wales and Southwest England..

Who we support
We work with anyone interested in supporting their wellbeing, but particularly those navigating life’s complex challenges, for example: anxiety, low mood & depression, grief, homelessness, recovery, domestic abuse, hoarding behaviours, asylum seekers and refugees, long-term unemployment, and social isolation. Often, people are facing multiple pressures at once.
With the support of funders we are able to offer our programmes for free or voluntary donation.

Systems approach to sustainable wellbeing
Wellbeing is shaped by the dynamic interplay between self, relationships, home, work, community, and the natural world.
This understanding is at the heart of everything we do. We create learning experiences that work across the interconnected systems that shape how you live, connect, and thrive. As well as blending neuro, applied cognitive and positive psychology in our programmes, we use three interconnected frameworks to underpin our work:
The UN Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are our ‘what’ – reminding us that wellbeing is inseparable from fairness, community cohesion, and environmental care.
The Inner Development Goals (IDGs) are our ‘how’ – the capacities and competencies that underpin meaningful change. These shape learning outcomes across our programmes.
The Model of Health Determinants helps us see people within context – recognising that wellbeing sits within layers of influence, from personal circumstances through social networks to broader socioeconomic and environmental forces.
Together, these frameworks help us see the whole picture – not just symptoms, but systems; not just individual experience, but the contexts that shape what’s possible.

How we work
Needs Identification – We partner with communities and organisations to identify need through genuine listening and co-creation.
Programme Design – We co-produce trauma-informed programmes blending evidence-based psychology with creativity, nature connection, and practical tools. Forward-focused, experiential, and transformative.

Delivery – Trauma-informed practice is woven through every interaction – creating environments where people feel safe to take risks, respected to show up as they are, and supported to grow.
Research & Learning – We take impact measurement really seriously. Through our partnership with the Sustainable Wellbeing Research Group at Swansea University, we’re developing trauma-informed research tools and co-authoring academic studies. We’re asking: What works? For whom? Under what conditions? What can be improved and how?
