What is Head Outdoors?
We partner with other third sector organisations to reach community members needing support with their mental health and emotional wellbeing.
Our community nature-based programmes are built using a blend of evidence-based psychology and nature-based activities including:
- Flora and fauna identification
- Mindfulness in nature
- Navigation in nature
- Bushcraft
- Woodland arts & craft
Our community mental health and wellbeing services range from a series of weekly sessions to bespoke wellbeing workshops. Our most popular nature-based training for community members is Head Outdoors! Please contact us for a full programme brochure or more details on how we might be able to support the community your organisation works with.
How do our programmes differ from others?
There are many great wellbeing projects available these days how is ours different?
- Evidence-based psychology: All our programmes are built on evidence-based psychology and bring in tools from Positive Psychology, Neuropsychology & Applied Cognitive Psychology.
- Together we are stronger: We recognise that there are other amazing outdoor wellbeing and conservation activities being run in our communities, we don’t duplicate what they are doing, we compliment it! When clients complete a Head Outdoors! Project our aim is that they feel empowered about their mental health and inspired to engage more with other community activities. We partner up with other organisations so that we can sign-post clients to opportunities and support them on their journey to more community engagement.
